Securitas UK welcomes Fire Cadets to a training facility in Moreton-in-Marsh to gain real-life training
Securitas UK welcomed top Fire Cadets in Moreton-in-Marsh, for an action-packed firefighting weekend giving graduate cadets a safe and realistic insight into firefighting.
From 1-3 November, cadets developed key fire safety and emergency response skills through hands-on and classroom training led by expert instructors from Securitas UK.
The weekend covered fire risk management, dynamic risk assessment, situational awareness, hose reel operation, and safe equipment handling, all supported by thorough safety protocols.
Fire behaviour demonstrations enriched the cadets understanding of fire dynamics, response tactics, and teamwork.
The training concluded with a ceremony recognising their progress and commitment to community safety.
One of the cadets remarked, "this weekend has been incredible! I learned so much and got a real feel for what firefighters go through every day. The team spirit, the challenges, and the thrill of tackling each scenario were amazing and I feel even more inspired to pursue a career in firefighting.”
Jess Patten, Head of Youth Services, at the London Fire Brigade, joined the cadets on the opening day and praised the programme.
“I’m extremely proud of our London Fire Brigade Fire Cadets and inspired by how young people achieve amazing success when given the right opportunities. This exciting, jam-packed weekend, hosted by Securitas UK at the Fire Service College, has allowed 16 of our top Fire Cadets to experience the absolute realities of firefighter training, which I hope helps them decide if an operational career in the fire brigade is their dream.”
Paul Rankin, Director of Fire & Aviation, Securitas UK, said: “As a trusted partner to the London Fire Brigade and long-time supporter of the Fire Cadets, it’s a privilege to host this annual training weekend. Watching each cadet grow in confidence as they tackle new challenges and build lasting friendships is incredibly rewarding. They leave here with a strong sense of camaraderie, which we hope they’ll carry with them, especially if they choose a career as firefighters.”
