Led by charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, the Time To Talk Day is part of the Time to Change pledge signed by Securitas in September 2018.
Grainne Kelly, Director of HR & Securitas Operations Centre comments: “Time to Change statistics show that 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem and 9 in 10 of those say they have faced negative treatment from others as a result. Time to Talk aims to shine a national spotlight on the importance of mental health and raise awareness, breaking down barriers to support.
“Securitas UK is committed to the wellbeing of its employees, aiming to provide a supportive work environment. Through education, training and events, we are raising awareness and encouraging colleagues to talk openly about issues they may be experiencing. As part of this we are now recognised to deliver Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) in-house and already a number of our staff have qualified in MHFA training. In addition, we have identified people across the business to act as mental health ambassadors."
