Gravity is a forward-thinking, sustainable campus designed to foster clean growth and a strong sense of community, where companies make a positive impact socially, economically, and environmentally.
As a global leader in security solutions, Securitas is delivering a tailored range of protective services, ensuring the safety, security and efficiency of the site’s operations as it undergoes a major transformation.
The site, spanning over 600 acres and with a five-kilometre perimeter, faces multiple security risks, including fly-tipping, trespassing, theft, and the potential for protestor activity. The new upgraded system meets the growing demands as construction progresses and public awareness of the site increases. With multiple entry points and an evolving layout, a flexible, scalable security solution is crucial to prevent delays and mitigate risks to the project.
Securitas’ Solution: A Smarter, Flexible Security Model
Securitas has designed a comprehensive, technology-driven security solution tailored to the site’s unique needs, that includes various products and services as detailed:
- 24/7 CCTV Monitoring: Deployment of solar-powered perimeter CCTV towers with thermal imaging and warning systems, ensuring real-time monitoring of the entire site.
- On-Site Guarding: on-site security personnel, equipped with body worn cameras for enhanced protection to people and property.
- Facial Recognition & ANPR Systems: Installation of turnstiles and vehicle control systems at the main entrance, with advanced facial recognition for personnel and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) for vehicles.
- Risk Intelligence Centre (RIC) Support: The site will benefit from Securitas' global Risk Intelligence Centre, receiving proactive alerts on potential threats and location-based intelligence.
- Mobile Patrols & Emergency Response: Dedicated mobile patrol units and rapid response teams will provide additional security coverage, particularly during weekends and high-risk periods.
Nadine Matthews, Country President, Securitas UK said: “We are excited to be part of this critical project, ensuring not only the safety of the site but also helping our client meet their operational targets by minimising delays and security risks. Our security solution combines cutting-edge technology, real-time intelligence, and skilled personnel to deliver a robust security framework that adapts to the site’s evolving needs.”
Paul Lowndes, Programme Director, This is Gravity Ltd said: “Gravity has worked with Securitas at our site, for the last 7 years. The new upgrade to security, catering to the needs of Gravity and AGRATAS, is sustainable, scalable, flexible and future-proof and provides a backbone for the wider site and occupiers, to integrate bespoke security solutions.”
