Since the launch of its first club in Edgware in May 2021, XCELERATE GYMS has ambitious plans to expand its enhanced fitness model across the UK and into international territories, with an impressive pipeline of clubs confirmed to launch in 2024.

In partnership with Kawasaki, Securitas proposed a risk-based approach, utilizing its full suite of services to enhance security while reducing costs.
- XCELERATE GYMS is a new, family-friendly fitness franchise. With the first franchisees signed up in the UK, the executive team was seeking a comprehensive, innovative, yet affordable security solution for every gym in its expanding franchise network.
- We installed a state-of-the-art remote monitoring system with innovative audio capabilities, supported by ongoing maintenance and management. Mobile patrol and keyholding services are also included in the package.
- Franchisees benefit from an option to spread the cost of the installation and equipment over three years through a single monthly payment, avoiding upfront expenses.

Balancing costs with capabilities
As XCELERATE GYMS expanded its footprint in the fitness industry, they needed a robust yet flexible security solution to support their franchise network. After thorough consultation, we proposed a scalable approach, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all locations.
Our comprehensive solution included a remote monitoring system integrated with audio features, enabling rapid response in case of alarms or intrusions. “We wanted a one-stop solution that offered both security and value,” explains Mark Chambers, Chief Executive Officer of XCELERATE GYMS.
Given their aggressive expansion plans, we offered a solution that would adapt to the needs of each franchise, whether in the UK or abroad. Mobile patrols, regular maintenance checks, and a scalable monitoring system mean that franchisees can focus on their members while we take care of their security needs.

Achieving comprehensive coverage
The upgraded CCTV system, featuring radar and thermal imaging, allowed us to reduce on-site guarding hours by 64%, switching to remote monitoring. Our SOC officers can quickly assess incidents and respond, issuing audio challenges or dispatching mobile patrols if necessary. This new setup has minimized security gaps, protecting the site and its personnel.
Additionally, electronic bi-fold gates with ANPR streamline vehicle access, while security officers remain on-site during business hours, supplemented by random mobile patrols. The reduced guarding hours are delivering significant savings, especially in light of rising labor costs. The new measures allow Kawasaki to spread costs over five years, with an expected 30% annual savings for the next decade.
