About 100 Avebury Boulevard

Located in the centre of Milton Keynes and conveniently close to the railway station, 100 Avebury Boulevard is a premium, purposebuilt commercial property that has been designed to meet the needs and expectations of the contemporary workforce. Architecturally appealing and with a premium interior finish, it attracts many high-profile tenants including international law firm, Shoosmiths and fintech firm Xero. Dexter Brown are Managing Agents for the building.

The Story in Brief:

  • The building opened to tenants in 2020 after the construction phase was complete. The security requirements of a construction site are very different to those of an occupied commercial property – especially one as high-end as this. In response to the client’s brief for both professional front-of-house and security services we proposed a combination of our STARS (Security Trained Assistance and Reception Services) and the presence of a security officer 24/7
  • This solution gave the client both the service elements they were looking for, with the added advantage of having Securitas as a single provider, streamlining administration and enabling precise budgeting over the course of the two-year pay monthly contract.

Professional Reception & Security Services

A seven-storey building with three large roof terraces and an impressive atrium, 100 Avebury Boulevard is fully fitted-out with essential work and lifestyle amenities – including an on-site gym and fitness centre.

The flexible space provides a mixture of private offices and co-working desks, meeting rooms and breakout areas, all enhanced by a stylish interior finish that includes limestone flooring and a marble reception area.

The building opened to tenants in 2020 and initially on-site security services were delivered by the provider who had been in place during the construction of the building.

However, the security requirements of a construction site are very different to those of an occupied commercial property – especially one as high-end as this. Dexter Brown, the local Managing Agent for the building, invited Securitas to propose a more appropriate and long-term solution for on-site security and front of house (FoH) services.

The twin objectives were to provide meet and greet services for tenants and visitors, and ensure the building’s people and assets were kept safe. Key requirements were professionalism, resilience and reliability (the existing arrangements did not provide any back up for holiday or sick leave cover).

We recommended use of our STARS (Security Trained Assistance & Reception Services) to provide a professional, impeccably presented point of contact for tenants, visitors and contractors during office hours.

Our STARS combine front-ofhouse and administrative skills with security, providing added resilience on-site in the event of an incident. Their enhanced security awareness training includes First Aid, ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) and also a bespoke induction to the client site itself.

A Securitas security officer is also present, 24/7 (the building offers 24- hour access), trained by us on-site to ensure a detailed knowledge of the building and familiarity with its occupants. Relief personnel have been trained to the same level for both on-site guarding and STARS, to ensure continuity and resilience.

With this solution, Securitas has elevated the quality and reliability of both security and reception services at this prestigious property. We have also enabled Dexter Brown to consolidate their two requirements – FoH and security – into a single contract, with the local Securitas branch manager providing a dedicated point of contact.
